Planning was approved in January 2017 for a residential development of 46 apartments with residents’ car parking, and the project was completed in February 2021.
Construction for the £12m project started in January 2018 and was completed in February 2021. The development, aimed at the family rental market, has been designed to complement rather than detract from the neighbouring St Stephen’s Church, helping to maintain the distinctive sense of place on St Stephen’s Road.
The site has been retained by BCP Council who purchased the buildings as a long-term investment asset. Now complete, the homes are being operated as a private-sector rental scheme via the Council’s wholly owned services company Seascape Ltd under a 25-year lease.
